Healing is deeply personal, and I want you to feel informed and supported every step of the way. Here are answers to some common questions as you explore Christ-centered mind-body healing.

FAQS

What is Christ-Centered Mind-Body Healing (Splankna)?

Splankna is a Christian, prayer-based mind-body approach to emotional and trauma healing that addresses the whole person: body, soul, and spirit. Through gentle body-based techniques, prayer, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we work to process and release unresolved emotional pain, trauma, subconscious beliefs, and survival patterns. The goal isn't simply to understand what happened, but to invite Jesus into the places where pain has left its mark.

How is Splankna different than traditional therapy?

Traditional talk therapy often focuses on processing experiences through conversation, helping you understand your thoughts, emotions, and patterns.

Splankna takes a different approach by incorporating body, soul, and spirit into the healing process. It's a Christ-centered approach that combines prayer, muscle-response testing (in-person sessions only), listening prayer (virtual sessions), and gentle body-based techniques to identify and process unresolved emotional pain and trauma.

Rather than only talking about what happened, Splankna creates space to address how those experiences may still be affecting you physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Splankna is not clinical counseling, but it can complement traditional therapy.

Why do we use the word “energy”?

At the most basic level, all of God’s creation operates through energy — movement, vibration, and frequency. In Splankna, “energy” simply refers to the physical way the body carries emotion, memory, and stress. We don’t worship or manipulate energy; instead, we recognize it as part of how God designed the human body. Using this understanding, we invite Him to bring healing at every level — physical, emotional, and spiritual.

What does a session look like?

Each session begins with prayer as we invite the Holy Spirit to guide our time together. Through a gentle combination of touch and thought, emotional acupressure, and muscle-response testing (in person) or listening prayer (virtually), we work to process and release unresolved emotional wounds, trauma, and the beliefs connected to them. We also incorporate biblical elements of forgiveness, repentance, and the authority of Jesus as we invite God's truth into wounded places. You'll be guided through each step with care and compassion

What kind of responses do people have?

Everyone's healing journey is different. Some women describe feeling lighter or more peaceful after a session, while others notice changes gradually over time.

Experiences women may report include:

  • Greater emotional awareness and capacity

  • Feeling calmer or more grounded

  • Less intensity around certain emotional triggers

  • Greater clarity around recurring beliefs and patterns

  • A deeper sense of connection with God

There is no single expected response, and outcomes vary from person to person.

Does this require a lot of talking?

Not at all! Splankna isn't traditional talk therapy, and you don't have to recount every detail of your past. You're welcome to share what feels important, but the process doesn't require you to relive painful experiences. Much of our time involves gentle body-based techniques, prayer, and working through emotional wounds as they arise.

What is muscle testing?

Muscle-response testing is a technique used within Splankna that involves observing changes in muscle resistance while focusing on specific thoughts, emotions, or statements. Practitioners use these responses as part of the Splankna process to explore possible emotional stressors and subconscious beliefs. It's gentle and non-invasive. Muscle testing is not a medically validated method for identifying stored trauma or diagnosing emotional conditions.

Are sessions virtual or in-person?

Both! I offer in-person sessions in the Denver, Colorado area and virtual sessions for women in other locations. The Christ-centered principles remain the same, but the body-based techniques are adapted for virtual sessions since physical muscle-response testing isn't used in the same way. Whether we're meeting in person or online, I'll guide you through the process step by step.
